The plain-English version of how MoveScout handles your data. Privacy isn't a policy page for us — it's the product: quotes without strangers walking your home or seeing inside your closets.
Your photos live in a private vault
Every photo is stored in a private bucket that is never publicly reachable. Viewing requires a short-lived, signed link that only our ops team can mint — and every access is logged.
Movers never see your photos
Movers quote from a Move Brief — an inventory summary, estimated weight and volume, and access notes. The handoff we send them is structurally checked so a photo can never slip in.
What we collect, and why
Your name and contact details (usually entered by your realtor when they refer you), the listing address, the shoot photos, and the move details you confirm. We use those details only to provide MoveScout — never to build advertising audiences.
Privacy-safe service analytics
We use first-party campaign events and Vercel's cookie-free, aggregated web analytics to understand which public pages and referral campaigns work. A small internal ledger records service milestones such as a move being started, but never names, contact details, home addresses, private links, raw ad-click identifiers, IP addresses, or browser fingerprints. Private account and move-page views are not sent to Vercel analytics.
Optional Meta analytics on public pages
Only if you choose Allow, Meta Pixel is activated on public marketing pages so we can understand whether ads work. Meta may receive the public page URL, campaign/referral details, IP address, and browser or device information. It is never activated on invite, listing, sign-in, account, dashboard, or move pages. You can decline without affecting MoveScout and change your choice from the footer.
Payments are handled by Stripe
Your deposit is processed by Stripe's hosted checkout. Your card number never touches MoveScout's servers and we never store it.
Email, only when it matters
We send service email — your invite, your quotes being ready, your booking confirmation. Delivery and link-click events may be recorded so we can tell whether a requested message arrived and whether its MoveScout link was used. We do not use tracking pixels for opens, sell your information, or send third-party marketing.

Reply to any MoveScout email and a human will help — we can correct your details or delete your photos and account data on request.
